Everyman cinema has been revealed as the anchor tenant of the proposed Bell Yard scheme in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Everyman is the first tenant to be announced as part of the proposed £30 million redevelopment project that will deliver over 70,000 sq ft of retail, restaurant and leisure space when complete.

This deal brings property development and investment company, UK & European Investments, a step closer to achieving their aim of delivering a high quality retail and leisure destination at Bell Yard, previously known as Stratford Town Square.

John Stacey, Asset Management Director at UK & European Investments, said: “Securing Everyman Cinema means that we are now well on our way to creating a new shopping and leisure destination in the heart of Stratford.

“Since we purchased the site it’s been extremely important to us that we attract high quality operators that will draw people to the area and help ensure Bell Yard becomes a desirable place for people to relax and enjoy their leisure time.”

Everyman is one of the fastest growing independent cinema networks in the UK. From the iconic 100 year old Screen on the Green to the latest space at Crossrail Place in Canary Wharf, each venue has its own identity and personality and the latest project at Bell Yard will be no different.

Measuring 12,000 sq ft, the new four screen venue will offer customers a luxurious made-to-measure environment, delicious food and drink menu and a state-of-the-art sound and vision experience. The broad and exciting programme will combine carefully chosen new releases alongside a curated film schedule and an array of exclusive live events.

The independent cinema will be the first of its kind to open in Warwickshire and only the second in the West Midlands, following the opening of Everyman Mailbox in Birmingham earlier this year.

UK & European Investments, acting as investment manager, owns the lease to Bell Yard; two thirds of which is owned by Stratford District Council and one third by Stratford Town Trust.
